What this site is for
Freeze & Fold exists for one reader: somebody buying their first ice cream maker. Not the spec-comparison enthusiast who already owns three, and not the person shopping for commercial equipment. Someone who wants homemade ice cream this summer and needs to know which single machine to buy and how to get one good batch out of it.
That focus is why the site is organized the way it is. Every roundup names the household it suits rather than declaring a universal winner. Every page tells you who should not buy the thing it is about. And the guides cover what happens after the purchase — why a batch came out icy, what it actually costs per quart — because that is where first-time owners get stuck and where almost nothing useful is written.
There are 76 pages here across six sections. The site index lists all of them.
What we know and what we do not
Being specific about this is the whole point of the site, so here it is without hedging.
What we have: access to the best published hands-on testing in this category, all of it citable. Real specification data for every machine we recommend. Real measured search data behind every page we chose to build. And a willingness to say “nobody credible has tested this machine” when that is the case.
What we do not have: a test kitchen. No lab, no churned-quart count, no machines on loan. No culinary training, no certifications, no awards, no years-in-business figure. No customer reviews, because this is a new publisher with no customers — which is why you will not find a testimonials section anywhere on this site.
Our methodology page sets out exactly what our verdicts are built from instead.
The publisher
Freeze & Fold is owned and published by Janet Media Group. The site, its content and its editorial decisions belong to them.
Janet Media Group publishes a small number of independent buying-advice sites. Their hub is at janetmediagroup.com.
How the site makes money
Affiliate commission, and nothing else. Freeze & Fold participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, so if you buy through a link here we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
What that does not buy: no manufacturer has paid for placement, sent us a machine, or seen a page before publication. Commission rates play no part in which machine we recommend, and where a cheaper option is better for the reader we say so — repeatedly, since our top overall pick is a $70 machine rather than a $600 one.
The full statement is in the affiliate disclosure, and our standards for sourcing and corrections are in the editorial policy.
Getting in touch
One address, monitored: contact@freezeandfold.com, or the contact form. There is no phone number and no mailing address, because this is a publisher rather than a storefront and we are not going to invent either.
Corrections get priority. If a specification here is wrong or a machine has been discontinued, telling us makes the site better for the next reader.
